So I've been playing-but-not-posting for quite a while, and I think I'm ready to get back into the saddle, so to speak.
I got Sims 3! (Thank you thank you thank you ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) simsforaranya!) I've already created a founder (Anissa Voronin), and if you can handle the fact that my graphics there have to be low as possible, so my textures aren't the greatest, I'll probably post it. However, it'll overlap with my plans for The Sims 2 again which is...
... bringing back the Martin legacy! I'm starting over, from Erica (this will definitely be posted). Why does this overlap? Well if you follow my Twitter, I mentioned that my TS3 founder, in the verse I got her from, is Erica Martin's grandmother. Come generation 3, one of the kids will be an Erica (if I get at least one girl). It'll be interesting to see how she turns out compared to how my TS2 founder will look (I'm remaking her slightly, so she won't look exactly like the original Erica. Her genetics will, however, be the same.) I think this is what I need to make the game fun again, rebuild what made it fun in the first place. And for me, that was Erica and her family. |

| 2009 goals, yo! |

Wow I use this thing way more as an actual journal than I do to, you know, post Sims stories in.
Anyway, it's December! \o/ That means 2009 is right around the corner. That means, once real life and non-Sims fandom stuff is out of the way, goals:
- Letra 2.1 has got to go up. Which means I have to finish taking caps. Which means... I have to play them. :x
- "Fun with a self-Sim" episode 2, though there's a lot that'll need to be explained. Oops. Orrrr I can redo it all in another hood. Option 2 is more fun.
- FANDOMLAND. :O
- "Star Crossed" will be written. Come hell or high water, "Star Crossed" will be written, though it may not stay named "Star Crossed." 'Tis working title.
- THE LOLWAT LEGACY. Yes. Ooh, are you curious? You better be. :P

Thanks to the Store Edition, my game is FUBAR. I've backed up my downloads/Saved Sims and I'm getting ready to uninstall/reinstall.
It doesn't really matter to me, as the only family I was concerned about, as far as getting them to you, was my new one.
It just sucks because I'm losing the Martins. Over a year of my time devoted to them, gone. Poof. Oh well, what can you do, you know?

I have so much going on in the Sims world (and so little time to do it all), that I'm just gonna give you guys a rundown of where I've been.
- Martins and Mongbolphs for sure have been relegated to me finishing them in private (I've been playing without capping - except for their respective family trees - for quite a while). Carters may be in the same state, I can't remember if I capped the last time I played them. Spectrals I haven't played since their last update. Besides, I've been cheating in the Martin household like whoa just to finish them. (Tombstone of life and death + sethour = my new favorite combo). But never fear (or run for your life, depending on your opinion of me)! That doesn't mean I'm out of the legacy deal. I've moved operations to Strangetown and created a new founder (who I love to spam because I'm totally in love with her).
![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) simfic50! I don't know exactly when I'll get around to these stories (both the writing part and the pic taking part), but it'll happen. Sim storytelling has been something I've been desiring to do for a while. I'm a writer by nature, and I already have a few ideas for a couple of them (like a Martin recap - with all new pictures! - once I finally get to gen 10 for "Legacy")- Faked supernatural (because I don't have every EP because my computer is fail) asylum challenge!
- A laundry list of defaults to upload: one normal skinset, one normal eyeset, two alien skins, and two alien eyes. Yeah, I've been busy. lol.
- A second go at an uglacy challenge.
- A dilution challenge.
- Umm... uh... yeah. I think that's it. Oh! A redone self-Sim photoshoot now that I've got wayyyy better graphics (and an updated self-Sim)
TBQH, The Sims has been the last thing on my mind. I attempted (and failed) NaNoWriMo and, oh yeah, (Though if you're on my personal journal's f-list you already knew that, heh. I'm just overly excited. Way overly excited. I mean, really. It felt like I'd never get to the point where I was saying, "I'm seeing them this week!" and here I am.) |

| Martin Legacy 6.1 |

Or what would have been Martin Legacy 6.1 if my computer weren't an ass.
See this is what happens the day I decide to get back into my legacies. I finish taking the pictures, go to rename them, and accidentally undo the rename. Oh, no problem, I'll redo it! Well for some reason that didn't work quite right. Instead... it ate every picture in the upload. They weren't in my Storytelling folder, they weren't in my holding folder, they weren't in my recycle bin. 60 something pictures just went *poof*!
Anywayyyyyy not much happened. Polaris got pregnant again, Viola aged up into a toddler (then a child) and was cute, I decided man maid Steven Dallas is gen 6 spouse, Polaris first popped twice (probably because of InTeen being installed), and Polaris had a boy who was a genetic Viola clone named Castanet. And that's it. *shrugs*
Oh! I do have this, on my LJ scrapbook:
Child Viola. I told you she was cute. This is really the only thing that's of importance from the update, because Viola is heir. |

| simsecret, me, and the future of my legacies |

I'm sure by now everyone's seen the secret from this week's simsecret post where I was inherently bashed. Yeah, that one.
I left a, well, pretty mean comment in response to it, and the secret writer responded. And all it left me with is this: Well, they were right. Didn't have to be that mean about it, but the general idea of the secret was 100% correct.
I'm a story writer, always have been. I can't do commentary, I'm not snarky enough. I never should have done it to begin with, but when I started the Martins, I didn't know people even did their legacies like a story, and I wanted to fit in (not be insanely popular, just fit in). As for the others, well, I was lazy.
When I was still angry and judgmental and foaming-at-the-mouth-like, I did the total "Whatever, I do what I want!" but after sleeping on it, and waking up to the secret maker's comment, I've reconsidered that.
Now I've given myself two options: finish off the legacies only showing off the major events (age transitions, deaths, weddings, and births) or scrap them altogether. Really, continuing the way I've been going isn't an option.
I really want to start "Star Crossed" (my Pascal Curious/Nervous Subject story). I want to make that my main priority, but I can't, with everything else I've given myself to do (especially since I don't want to be one of those that starts a legacy and stops it at the end).
You know the phrase, "if it's not broken, don't fix it" Well, with my legacies, and my writing style, I kinda ignored that one. Now I've gotta fix it. |

So... I know how to do default replacements now, and jump at the opportunity to share them. I come baring two skintone files, one normal default eye set, and four alien default eye sets: ( A whee! )*These are not in .rar and are just the .package files. Remember the click save and not open when downloading these files. |
